LARA MAIGUE

Award-winning Filipino soprano-songwriter, Lara Maigue is a graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Music major in Voice. She was recognized by the Aliw (Entertainment) Awards Foundation as Best Female Classical Performer for 2017 and Best Female Crossover Artist for 2018. She also won Best Jazz Recording at the 2019 Awit (Sing) Awards.
Over the past several years, Lara has performed with the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, the Manila Symphony Orchestra, the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, UP Symphony Orchestra and the UP Jazz Ensemble in different concert halls all over the Philippines including the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
She later on tried her hand at acting and became one of the lead stars in the musical teleserye on TV5, “Trenderas" where she was nominated for “Outstanding Breakthrough Performance by an Actress” by the Golden Screen TV Awards. On the musical theater stage, she alternated as the lead female character in the stage musicale version of “Maynila Sa Mga Kuko Ng Liwanag” (Manila in the Claws of Light) directed by Joel Lamangan in 2017 and also essayed the role of Monica in Gian Carlo Menotti’s opera, “The Medium,” in 2017 and 2018. Lara went back to television in 2018, this time as segment host of Sagisag Kultura TV, a culture, arts and travel program by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts on PTV channel 4.
